Defenders of Welpolm

About the project
Defenders of Welpolm is my upcoming 2D action RPG and the first game project being developed under the Studio Eletrymus name.
It is rooted in the classic 2D action RPG genre, but I want to gradually introduce elements that are less common in similar games. The current concept includes features such as building your own fortresses and camps, managing territory and defending it.
The game is built around different classes and characters. Each of them has its own playstyle, but they share the same goal: defend the realm of Welpolm, reclaim lost territory and gradually build a reputation not only as a fearless warrior, but also as a capable leader who can protect their people.
The original idea looked completely different. Defenders of Welpolm was initially meant to be a simple space-themed endless runner focused on collecting coins and avoiding obstacles. My love for RPGs gradually pushed the project toward a much more ambitious 2D game and a fantasy world of its own.
From the beginning, I have tried to keep the scope realistic enough for me to eventually finish the game as a solo developer. In the future, however, I would be open to collaboration, for example with a pixel artist who connects with the world of Welpolm and would like to help shape it.
The game is still in an early stage of development. For several months, I worked on it in my spare time, focusing mainly on core mechanics and regularly testing them. Development is currently paused for an indefinite period while I work on my own software and deal with limited time, but I plan to return to the project in the future.
If Defenders of Welpolm caught your interest, I would be glad to hear your feedback, ideas, or from anyone who might be interested in contributing to the project in the future.
